I’m a Program Manager with the Visual Studio Professional Deployment Experience (VSP-DEx) team at Microsoft. My wife and I moved to Washington from the Midwest near the turn of the millenium, bought a house, and had our first child, Sommer.

At work, I’m a deployment expert focused on shipping Visual Studio (and formerly .NET) while helping other teams and divisions across the company – as well as our external partners and customers – ship good products. Deployment is often overlooked, but incredibly difficult even for what some consider “simple” products. It may not sound exciting to most, but it keeps me busy.

On the rare occassion I’m not at work I’m spending time with my family and enjoy playing on the Xbox 360. I usually enjoy spending time working in the yard, though I wish the previous tenants would’ve occassionally thatched and aeriated the lawn. I love photography, hiking, and the occassional backpacking trip now that Sommer is growing old enough.

The blog I keep here is intended primarily for family, but I try to also post any helpful tips that might not fit in my professional blog as well as the occassional rant.
